MOOG ANNOUNCES BOEING 747-8 LCE CONTRACT

Moog Inc. (NYSE: MOG.A and MOG.B ) announced today that it has recently been awarded a contract to supply the Lateral Control Electronics (LCE) for the new Boeing 747-8. The Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental and 747-8 Freighter are the new high-capacity 747s that offer airlines the lowest operating costs and best economics of any large passenger or freighter airplane.

Entry into service is anticipated in late 2009.

The function of the LCE is the control of fly-by-wire aileron and spoiler actuators. For nearly 30 years, Moog has been a major supplier of flight control actuators to Boeing for use on their commercial transport product line. Moog has supplied electronics to other airplane manufacturers as part of actuation systems, but this is Moog's first opportunity to supply flight control electronics to Boeing for commercial transport.

Moog Inc. is a worldwide designer, manufacturer, and integrator of precision control components and systems. Moog's high-performance systems control military and commercial aircraft, satellites and space vehicles, launch vehicles, missiles, automated industry machinery, and medical equipment.
