A slip ring is an electro-mechanical device that allows the transmission of power and electrical signals from a stationary to a rotating structure. Also called a rotary electrical joint, collector or electric swivel, a slip ring can be used in any electro-mechanical system that requires unrestrained, intermittent or continuous rotation while transmitting power and/or data. It can improve mechanical performance, simplify system operation and eliminate damage-prone wires dangling from movable joints.
For high-speed data transfer or for data transfer in EMI sensitive environments, we manufacture a line of Fiber Optic Rotary Joints (FORJ's).
With over 6,000 designs, if you do not see a slip ring to match your requirements, please contact us for assistance. Our slip rings are available for fast delivery and are designed for tough commercial, industrial and military environments.
Moog Components Group offers the Motion Technology catalog that allows you to select the slip ring that fits your application. It provides in-depth data about various slip ring models and fiber optic rotary joints. Application articles spotlight how to size, select and apply slip rings. This guide features various custom applications and slip ring solutions are illustrated. Product specifications, outline drawings and features are included.
