My first day at Moog was not as overwhelming as my nightmare the night before had led me to believe it would be. Everyone must get those first day butterflies. Everything is new, and new is scary, exciting, and enthralling. The great thing about Moog was at the end of the first day it wasn't scary. I still had all of the excitement, I just lost that fear. Everyone was so helpful and welcoming that right away I knew I was working for a special company.

I have been in my position for the last year and a half. And my father has been working his way up to his current position at Moog for just about 24 years. So I actually grew up with a lot of my co-workers. The atmosphere here is just like a family. From the upper management down, everyone is equal. The plant manager here in Torrance played on the company basketball team for years, and not as the coach or manager, just another player. This is a unique trait to have in corporate America, and one that I feel great to be a part of. I would have to say my favorite part of my job is the daily challenge of doing it. At the end of every day I go home satisfied knowing that I did my best.

I'm not sure I can pinpoint a certain event or single memory that stands out here. In my mind I see a collage of memories that I could mention. I will say that my favorite memories come from the good humor of everyone at Moog. For instance when college football comes around, you walk into the facility and there is a UCLA doormat out front. You walk down the corridor and a USC banner is hung up. All around the facility it is either this team or that team and everyone is involved. It puts a smile on your face.
