I've actually wanted to get a job at Moog since I graduated from high school. My father has been working at Moog for 28 years, so I got to experience what Moog was all about through him, and although the opportunity did not come for me until 10 years later, it was definitely worth the wait. I joined Moog because I heard it was a great place to work and they really cared about their employees.
On my first day here at Moog everyone I met was friendly and willing to help, which made it really easy to get over the first day jitters.
I am the Product Delivery Operator for the Repair and Overhaul group. I handle all the units that are sent to Moog to be repaired and overhauled by inputting them into our system and communicating what is received with our contract administrators. I also take the units that are released and ready to be worked on out to their proper areas for repair and ensure the mechanics are aware of what the customers needs are and the time frame they have to complete the job.
What I enjoy about my job is that I have a position which allows me to get out there and be a part of and see all the aspects of what goes on with the units I receive. Some people just get to see the one step they perform, I am lucky enough to be there from beginning to end, which allows me the opportunity to see the big picture.
I really enjoy attending the Moog company picnics. They are a lot of fun and give me the opportunity to meet and talk to a lot of the people I might not get a chance to meet otherwise.
