I'd wanted to work for Moog for years before I graduated and finally joined them. On my first day we had an orientation session but then on the tour around the floor I saw lots of people I already knew from the community and they were really friendly towards me. It helped me settle in quickly.

I've been able to develop at Moog and increase my skills, which is why I'm now the manager of the Product Engineering group. I spend a lot of time dealing with technical issues and this involves talking to my counterparts all over the world. They've all been good to me – I like the Moog philosophy of trust and confidence, because everyone is open and helpful and works as a team. It's a good community, and I like that you get the latitude to perform your job.

The travel around the world to other Moog sites is my favorite part of the job – especially seeing other cultures. They're also the funniest moments in my job; I've gotten lost, had to learn to drive different cars and even once drove on the wrong side of the road. Riding in a glider in Germany was great too. I suppose the thing that the travel has taught me most is that Moog is the same the world over, and there's always the same trust and friendship, and the same high level of expertise.
