Moog’s Total Solution for Motion Control Presented at SPS IPC Drives Italia 2016

Moog’s Total Solution for motion control will be the theme for its booth (C014 in Pavilion 2) at the SPS IPC Drives Italia, the industrial automation fair held from May 24 to 26 at the Fiere di Parma Fairground. The booth displays will highlight the distinctive advantages of the complete solutions developed by Moog including efficiency, high productivity, safety, flexibility, and reduction of operating costs and energy consumption. Moog is known for tailoring products to meet specific customer requests for a range of markets including power generation, metal forming, steel production, plastics, test & simulation and motorsports.

Products featured at the show include our highly dynamic Servo Motors up to MD 7 in size, Servo Drives, the MC600 series Machine controllers with a new HMI, servo valves with new digital interfaces and ball screws and planetary roller screws in sizes up to 100 diameter for static loads up to 3400 kN. The exhibition will also feature the FastAct Series H servo motors, the single-axis DS2020 servo drive and multi-axis DM2020 servo drives. Moog will also launch the innovative DR2020 Servo Drive, designed to reach a higher level of versatility when compared to traditional control cabinets.
Moog will be exhibiting iCub, the humanoid robot created by IIT - Italian Institute of Technology – that features brushless motors which have been used in the joints of the robot’s arms and legs. Furthermore, Moog and IIT recently announced an agreement for the creation of a new joint lab – Moog@IIT – focusing on the development of next-generation actuation and control technologies for autonomous robots. IIT and Moog will work together over the next three years to develop the necessary technologies to take autonomous robots into real-world applications in the market.
One of the main innovations of this year’s booth is the debut of the Smart Factory, an interactive demo exploring an application of the Internet of Things (IoT) in the industrial market. This simulation of integrated production lines with interconnected Moog components, shows how plant personnel can collect and analyse data to quickly diagnose any faults or failures and ways to guide operators through the resolution of the problem. The adoption of IoT can help provide quick diagnosis of machine problems resulting in a reduction of maintenance costs and minimizing losses from machine downtime.
Moog Global Support, our promise to help maintenance professional worldwide to maximize uptime and get more from his or her machine investment, will also be showcased in the booth. Visitors will learn more about our service offering including factory repair, supplying original OEM spare parts, professional field service, hands-on training, flexible planned maintenance programs, technical support and retrofits. Like Total Solutions Moog offers a complete service that goes beyond simple repair and includes support programs to help reduce risk, extend the life of critical equipment and ensure maintenance is always available and transform maintenance from reactive to proactive.
