Modifications and Upgrades - F-15 Pitch & Roll Channel Assembly (PRCA) for USAF Oklahoma City, ALC, Tinker Air Force Base
Challenge:
- DoD desire to replace hard chrome plating with improved and environmentally acceptable coating
- USAF shortage of F-15E configuration hardware, but surplus of older configuration PRCA’s
Our Solution:
- Qualify improved HVOF tungsten carbide coating to replace chrome plating on pistons – will more than double expected seal life leading to significant increase in time MTBF
- Develop modification / upgrade of surplus F-15A-D model flight hardware into F-15E configuration at 50% of new unit price. Contract will save USAF $3.75M in spares acquisition costs
- Touch labor for modification /upgrade to be provided under partnership with OO-ALC
