E024 Series Servo Valves for Formula  1


Developed from proven Moog aerospace servo valve that is widely used for control surface actuation in civil and military aircraft, this product is ideal for motorsport applications where very high levels of power density are required, that can not be achieved with electrical actuation. These include: selector drum positioning, clutch control, throttle control and torque control in limited slip differentials.

From September 2009, the E024 Servo Valve was upgraded to include 'flow matched' nozzles, giving a reduced null shift with vibrations in temperature and pressure. The end-cap retaining screws were upgraded to survive 200 °C (392 °F) local temperatures, but retained a flow capability of up to 7.5 l/min (2 US g/min) to meet the extreme performance and environmental demands of motorsport applications.

E024 Series Servo Valve With energy Efficient Low Flow Pilot Stage

A development of the two special versions of the well-established E024 series Motorsport Servo Valve - with low-flow pilot stages. The Low Leakage and Ultra Low Leakage Servo Valve versions have been developed to meet the forthcoming requirement of Formula 1 to adopt more hydraulic actuators under the proposed 2014 regulations. Utilizing these more energy-efficient valves potentially allows the use of a smaller hydraulic pump.

Typically the standard valves can be used on applications requiring high resolution and high speed, -such as gearbox selector drum positioning. The lower response versions could be used in applications where valve response is not as critical such as differential control

E024 Series Servo Valve with LVDT

This special version of the E024 Series motorsport servo valve incorporates an integral Linear Variable Differential Transformer (LVDT) position sensor. The LVDT allows the valve spool position to be continuously monitored during normal operation, with a spool position transducer incorporating a 5 wire LVDT with high temperature capability.

This valve is designed to be used in safety critical control systems where it is essential that the correct operation of the valve is continuously monitored. Typical applications include motorsport braking systems and other applications requiring control loop integrity.
