Partnerships
Our partnership allows us to follow a product through systems engineering, integration, delivery, and post-delivery support. Our agreement with ECAPS AB allows for the delivery of complete satellite propulsion solutions.
ECAPS AB
The Moog-ECAPS partnership brings High Performance Green Propulsion (HPGP) technology to the United States. HPGP provides an alternative to hydrazine without sacrificing performance and may lower the overall cost for monopropellant applications as a result of its low-toxicity characteristics. Benefits include:
- 6% better Isp than Hydrazine
- Environmentally benign
- Simpler and easier to handle, ship, store and dispose compared to Hydrazine
- Compatible with COTS components
In June 2010, the Prisma mission was test fired for the first time in space. The Prisma mission will demonstrate breakthrough technologies for autonomous formation flying and rendezvous, i.e. interaction between space vehicles. For the system, Moog provided the following to ECAPS:
- Latch Valves for the HPGP Systems
- Solenoid Thruster Valves for the HPGP System
- Fill-Drain Valves for the HPGP System
- Integrated the Hydrazine System
- Fill and Drain Valves for the Cold Gas System
