East Aurora, NY, Moog Inc. (NYSE: MOG.A and MOG.B) announced today that it has teamed with Curtiss-Wright to provide the Servo Motor Controllers (SMC) for the Future Combat System (FCS) Manned Ground Vehicles (MGV).
The SMC is a product line of modular motor drive and control units for the FCS Manned Ground Vehicles. The SMC product line consists of five variations and controls a wide variety of motors common across eight vehicle variants of the MGV.
The Curtiss-Wright/Moog team will design and manufacture the SMC's for General Dynamics Land Systems over two program phases through FY 2010. If the Army goes into full FCS production, then additional SMC production quantities could potentially be required through 2021.
The design, development and manufacturing of these products will take place at Moog's facility located in East Aurora, New York and Curtiss-Wright's Motion Control segment, Embedded Computing facility located in Santa Clarita, California.
