Moog Acquires Wind Energy Firm Insensys

East Aurora, N.Y. – Moog Inc. (NYSE: MOG.A and MOG.B) has acquired 70 percent of the stock of Insensys Ltd. for US$15.7 million in cash. As part of the transaction, Moog has an option to purchase the remaining 30 percent within one year. Insensys is a leading supplier of pitch control and rotor blade monitoring systems for wind turbines.

While Moog offers its own longstanding expertise in a range of electro-hydraulic technologies, LTi REEnergy is one of the leading providers of electro-mechanical pitch control systems. With this investment, Moog arguably becomes the world’s only supplier of both electro-mechanical and electro-hydraulic PCS for the wind energy market.

Moog FCS Selected to Provide Leading-Edge Driving Simulator for Ferrari

Moog wins 10-year test equipment supply agreement with Airbus

Moog FCS, a worldwide provider of high-performance aerospace test equipment and a part of Moog Inc. (NYSE:MOG.A and MOG.B ), has secured a contract to provide Airbus with multi-channel digital servo control system requirements for all of the Airbus ground-based testing facilities until at least 2016. Moog FCS will be the sole source to Airbus on for multi-channel digital servo control systems, providing Airbus the benefits of a single platform across all of its structural testing facilities in Germany, United Kingdom, France and Spain. Under the agreement, initial system deliveries have commenced and will run until May 2016.

Moog Receives Frost & Sullivan North American Flight Simulation Technology Innovation Award

Moog’s New High Torque Direct Drive Servomotors

Moog has announced the release of its High Torque Direct Drive Servomotors, a new line of large, customized direct drive permanent magnet rotary servomotors with peak torque up to 50,000 Nm and nominal power up to 510 kW. These servomotors are designed specifically for high torque applications and will enable larger industrial machinery such as all-electric injection molding machines to be constructed, than previously possible.

Moog’s new all-electric solution design has been adopted by Jinhwa Glotech Co., Ltd., a leading manufacturer of plastic injection molding machines. Moog has developed a unique approach for the injection axis of injection molding machines that is ideal for demanding applications such as molding of thin walled parts on small to medium sized, high performance machines. The High Power, High Speed Injection System, provides more power and higher injection speed, extends machine life, and reduces the amount of raw material used.

Next-Generation Radial Piston Pumps: Quieter, More Durable

Moog has introduced a second-generation design for its Radial Piston Pump (RKP-II) that features significant improvements for the user. Available in sizes 63, 80 and 100 cc per revolution, the RKP-II is considerably quieter and has a longer lifetime due to a completely reengineered power train with an increased number of pistons and a sliding stroke ring. RKP-II models can also be equipped with a proportional valve with digital on-board control electronics for volume flow and pressure control.
