New Moog Servovalve with Spool/Bushing Unit
16 April 2009Böblingen, Germany – At the Hannover Industrial Fair 2007 (hall 23, stand A32), Moog, a designer and manufacturer of high performance motion control solutions, introduces its new D67x series Servovalve, a product which is ideally suited for the challenges posed by use in heavy industry. The three stage NG16 servovalve D672 featuring electrical feedback for the main stage and an NG06 pilot valve with a ServoJet pilot stage, offers highly dynamic valve behaviour as well as its rugged, contamination-resistant design. It has been specially designed for challenging three-way applications.
The valve electronics for closed-loop control of the pilot and the main stage are on the pilot valve. Both the pilot valve and the main stage have a spheroidal-graphite cast iron valve body. The combination of a dirt-resistant ServoJet pilot stage and a hardened spool/bushing unit without an o-ring makes it a rugged valve with a long service life. In spool/bushing units without an o-ring, the pressure port for the consumer ports is sealed simply by the joint between the bushing and the aperture in the valve body. Thus, only the outside of the bushing is sealed using o-rings. All of these are critical design elements to ensure long life and reliability in challenging environments with dust, heat and high pressures.
The sophisticated valve electronics allow for a linear characteristic flow curve despite valve saturation and for the characteristic curve to be adapted to suit the customer's specific application. D672 is available in analogue and digital designs.
