Gigabit Ethernet Capability Added To Line of Fiber Optic Media Converters and Multiplexers27 February 2008
Blacksburg, VA – February 13, 2008 – Moog Components Group has announced the addition of a new high speed, Focal™ 907-GBE 1000 Mbps optical transfer rate capability for its 907 media converters and multiplexers Typical uses are sub-sea and marine applications.
A key advantage of these media converters is their design to meet the need for higher data rates not already supported by the multiplexer product line for applications such as video cameras, data networks and sensors. Media converters support such requirements as high resolution multi-beam sonar, 100/1000M Ethernet, Firewire and high definition video camera systems.
The RJ-45 input or copper side is compatible with all three standard Ethernet rates (10/100/1000 Mbps). The replaceable SFP transceiver allows customers to select from a range of transmission wavelengths to be easily integrated with other devices or multiplexers on a single optical fiber. With no switch buffer delays, the 907-GBE offers very low latency.
