Moog Crossbow Receives EASA Approval for Airborne use of ILC2000 Cargo Monitoring and Tracking Device

Milpitas, California, USA – Moog Crossbow, a wholly owned subsidiary of Moog Inc. (NYSE: MOG.A and MOG.B), recently passed a technical review by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) to permit airborne use of its ILC2000 real-time cargo monitoring and tracking device. The technical review was based on Part-CAT AMC-GM-Issue 2 - Amendment 1 (Annex to ED decision 2014/029/R) detailing the requirements for Cargo Tracking Devices under AMC1 to CAT.GEN.MPA.140 Portable Electronic Devices. Moog Crossbow holds a similar endorsement from the FAA.

The Crossbow ILC2000 was designed for ground, airborne and multi-modal shipments and delivers unprecedented real-time tracking and condition monitoring for cold chain and global supply chain applications. The ILC2000 provides location information using GPS/LBS, has an advanced sensor array for monitoring cargo/environment and global wireless communication capability. The ILC2000 also incorporates an “airplane safe mode” using on-board sensors and patented algorithms to automatically deactivate the radio transmitter when the device is airborne, yet it still continuously tracks and logs location and cargo/environmental data. Similarly, the radio transmitter is automatically reactivated when the plane lands.
