Moog Provides Motion System and Software to Daimler for a New Leading-Edge Dynamic Driving Simulator Project

Moog Industrial Group, a leader in providing high-performance flight simulation and leading-edge testing systems to the automotive and aerospace markets, has provided the high-dynamic motion control system portion of the new Daimler AG driving simulator. The system is installed at Daimler’s new driving simulator center, which is part of the Mercedes-Benz Technology Center, in Sindelfingen, Germany.

Moog Acquires isel Robotik USA, LLC

Moog Industrial Group has acquired Fremont, California-based isel Robotik USA, LLC in order to add vacuum and atmospheric robots to Moog’s wafer handling precision positioning solutions for the semiconductor industry.  Before the acquisition, Moog and isel Robotik USA had worked as partners to supply customers with Moog’s BX-300™ Motion and Machine Controller and isel Robotik USA’s wafer-handling robots.  The Moog BX-300 is a pre-integrated hardware and software platform for motion control.

Moog Pitch System in Guodian United Power Technology Wind Turbines Completes First Low Voltage Ride Through (LVRT) Testing in China

Moog Industrial Group recently supported Guodian United Power Technology Co., Ltd., a member of China Guodian Corporation, to complete the first Low Voltage Ride Through (LVRT) Testing for a wind turbine in China. The tested wind turbine is located in Guodian Shuanglong Wind Farm in Jilin Province of North China. All 33 wind turbines in this farm are equipped with Moog Wind Turbine Pitch Systems that meet LVRT requirements and have been operating stably for six months.

Moog Partners with Sewind to Supply 400 Pitch Control Systems for Wind Turbines in China

Moog Industrial Group recently announced a strategic collaboration agreement with Sewind Co., Ltd. in China. Starting in January 2010, Moog Industrial Group will provide 400 electric pitch control systems for Sewind’s 2 MW wind turbines and variant models including on-shore and intertidal models. Ranked one of the top five companies in China’s wind energy industry, Sewind Co., Ltd. specializes in the design, manufacturing and sale of large wind turbines. It is a joint venture of the Shanghai Electric Group Co., Ltd. and China Huadian Engineering Co., Ltd.

System Integration Contributes to Successful Start of Prisma Mission

East Aurora, NY – June 15, 2010. Last update Aug. 16, 2010. ECAPS, a subsidiary of the Swedish Space Corp. (SSC), announced the successful June 15th launch of the Prisma mission on a Dnepr rocket from Yazny, Russia. The pair of Prisma satellites, named Mango and Tango, were separated on August 12 and are flying individually. The GPS on each satellite is functioning normally, and the two satellites performed a formation flying demonstration. Tango experienced its final calibration and is now fully commissioned in preparation for the remainder of the mission. The satellites demonstrate an innovative 3-propellant system: hydrazine, High Performance Green Propellant (HPGP), and micro cold gas. The Prisma mission serves as the trial flight of HPGP and as a demonstration of formation flying and micropropulsion. Moog is proud to be ECAPS’ partner in providing critical hardware and integration support of the Prisma propulsion systems.

Moog Driving Simulator Heightens Reality of Virtual Test Laps for Ferrari Drivers

Moog Industrial Group has delivered a new testing simulator to Scuderia Ferrari in the Gestione Sportiva at Maranello, Italy. Two years in development, the new Ferrari F1 dynamic driving simulator features a customized motion control solution with combined motion mechanism, control loading system, complete software package, cockpit and dedicated operator workstation.

Moog Wins Contract to Supply Pitch Systems to REpower for the Nordsee Offshore 1 Wind Farm

Moog Industrial Group has won a contract to supply Hamburg, Germany-based REpower Systems AG with electric blade pitch control systems for the RWE Innogy Nordsee Ost 1 wind farm, one of the largest offshore projects in the world.  Beginning delivery in 2011, REpower will supply 48 wind turbines, each with Moog pitch control systems, to RWE Innogy GmbH to construct Nordsee Ost.  Nordsee Ost (North Sea East) is the first project under a framework agreement concluded between REpower and RWE Innogy in February 2009 for the delivery of up to 250 offshore 5 megawatt and 6 megawatt turbines.  The wind farm will be approximately 40 km (25 mi) offshore from the German island of Juist.
