Long subsea tie-backs and networked links to adjacent fields, coupled with the introduction of more sophisticated and data-intensive sensors, are driving the need for higher speed communication solutions with advanced data traffic management and diagnostics.
For the past 30 years, Focal has committed to developing and supplying advanced technologies for our customers in the marine market. Leveraging our expertise with field proven communication and networking technologies from the ROV market, we design, test, and manufacture a wide range of ISO 13628-6 qualified subsea control products including fiber optic modems, Ethernet switches, sensor data interfaces, and condition monitoring. Reliability and availability are optimized with robust designs, redundancy options, extensive diagnostics, fault tolerant protocols, and extensive qualification. We provide both standard and customized systems for critical subsea applications with options for card-level and packaged solutions.
Focal’s experienced engineering staff will work closely with customer’s Engineers to provide requirements and standards compliance, specialized documentation, obsolescence management, and firmware maintenance.
The Model 922-FOM is a lightly managed Ethernet switch designed and tested for use in subsea controls and communication applications.
The Model 922-420 provides an advanced SIIS Level 1 gateway to a SIIS level 3 network, and is ideally suited to interface with modern control systems.
The Model 922-SFP modules are qualified and tested for use in permanent subsea installations, ensuring reliable operation over extended lifetimes.
The Model 922-DSL offers the advantage of supporting three modem types (DSL, Serial and Optical) with integrated managed Ethernet switch and device server on a single card. This facilitates easy and flexible integration into a Subsea Electronics Module (SEM).
The Model 922-QSS is a subsea qualified SIIS Level 1, 2 and IWIS gateway enabling sensors, valves and other I/O to communicate with a modern SIIS level 3 control system.
The Model 922-MES is an advanced SIIS level 3 managed switch supporting next generation redundancy, timing protocols and Quality of Service (QoS).
