Ground Based Air Navigation
Ground Based Air Navigation systems or Navigation Aids, transmit signals that are used to calculate bearing and range of information to aid in pilot navigation.
Moog history in Navigation Aids dates back to the 1960’s. Our product heritage is based on supplying innovative solutions to the US department of defense. By the 1980s, we were supplying complete shipboard, mobile and man portable TACAN systems to the US and its allies.
In 2009 Fernau Avionics Ltd. became part of Moog, bringing with it a highly talented workforce and broad range of navigation products for civil, military and marine applications.

Tactical Air Navigation (TACAN)
We have the broadest range of TACAN systems available in the market including Fixed Base, Shipboard, Mobile and Man Portable.
Distance Measuring Equipment (DME)
The 2020 Series DME is the latest generation solid state system fully compliant with ICAO Annex 10. It can operate stand alone or in conjunction with other Navigation Aids.
Direction Finding (DF)
The 2030 Series DF system provides accurate navigation information including positional data without the need for special equipment other than standard VHF or UHF Radio systems.
Doppler VHF Omni-Directional Range (DVOR)
The 2070 Series DVOR is fully solid state dual system, comprising a single equipment rack with two transmitters and two monitors, externally mounted antenna distribution units and comprehensive remote maintenance monitoring system.
Non-Directional Beacon (NDB)
The 2060 Series NDB system is available in three versions: single, dual and portable. It provides complete coverage of the NDB frequency band (190 to 1750 kHz) and has a power output continuously adjustable up to 100 Watts.
Personal Locator Beacon (PLB)
The 2100 Series PLB is a multi-function 3 frequency search and rescue beacon with homing transmissions. The beacon provides simplex speech communication and incorporates embedded GPS.
