Moog Agrees to 35 Year Lease on New Manufacturing Facility in the UK

East Aurora, NY – June 17, 2020 – Moog Inc. (NYSE: MOG.A and MOG.B) has agreed to a 35-year lease on a new 184,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, United Kingdom. The state-of-the-art aerospace manufacturing facility will incorporate engineering and administration offices and is expected to be operational in 2023.

Mark Lawton, General Manager of the Aircraft Control Components Sector of Moog Aircraft Segment, stated: “We are delighted to announce this agreement to build a new facility. Our continued success in the marketplace has resulted in Moog outgrowing the facility that we have occupied for over 40 years. Our new facility will more than double our size and allow us to incorporate cutting edge manufacturing practices.”

Jon Robinson, development director and part owner of Barberry Industrial - the chosen Development and Investment Company for the project – said: “We are clearly thrilled to be selected as development partner by Moog to deliver the company’s state-of-the-art facility on our prominent site in Gloucestershire. This deal represents an excellent piece of business by Barberry, completed in a competitive situation, and is one of the largest deals this year in the UK manufacturing sector.

“The project will deliver economic growth, hundreds of construction jobs and a long-term commitment for existing and new highly skilled jobs in Gloucestershire.”

Mike Dawson, Chief Executive of Tewkesbury Borough Council said: “It is great to see one of the largest employers and cutting edge engineering companies in Tewkesbury making a long-term commitment to Gloucestershire. Moog’s commitment demonstrates the accessibility, infrastructure and demographic of Tewkesbury and we hope it will attract other big names to do the same. As part of the Garden Town Initiative we have issued an expression of interest to the Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) to support with further investment for other infrastructure and highway upgrades, also demonstrating our commitment to the future success of this location.”

The highly anticipated new facility will help foster further growth in Moog's Engine and Flight control products for military and commercial aerospace programs. Moog sees the expansion as an integral part of its commitment to long-term development and manufacturing in the UK.
