Celebrating Our Impact: Moog Week of Action+ World Cleanup Day
Inaugural event activated over 900 Moog volunteers around the globe.
In September, Moog held our first Week of Action, a global volunteer initiative timed to coincide with World Cleanup Day on Saturday, September 20.
Over the course of the event:
- Projects took place in 15 countries, representing 20 geographic regions and every continent where Moog operates.
- A total of 947 volunteers took part in 34 projects, dedicating a total of 1,893 hours of volunteer time.
- An incredible 43,000+ pounds (over 19,500 kg) of waste was collected, including approximately 39,000 pounds of organic debris and invasive plants and 1000+ pounds of electronic waste, in addition to general waste and item recycling.
Each of these initiatives were organized by local Moog champions.
Thanks to the time and talent of these employee leaders, Moog’s volunteers came together to:
- Pick up litter from beaches, municipal parks, and local neighborhoods.
- Partner with environmental nonprofits to clear invasive species and maintain natural spaces.
- Participate in recycling and reuse drives for everything from e-waste, old paint, cans and bottles to eyeglasses, sneakers, and household goods.
- Integrate environmental education into activities.
- And even beautify urban surroundings by painting a mural at a local childcare center.
In the end, this effort was about more than just cleaning up. It was an opportunity to show what we can do when we remember We’re All in This Together.
Please join us in celebrating all our participants, including employees from across the United States (including Western New York; Murphy, NC; Orrville, OH; Salt Lake City, UT; Santa Barbara, CA; Torrance, CA) as well as global sites in Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Costa Rica, Germany, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Lithuania, the Philippines, Singapore, and the United Kingdom.
