Moog 75th Anniversary STEM Scholarship Will Fund 75 Scholarships Through Community Partnerships
EAST AURORA, N.Y. – As part of its 75th anniversary celebration, Moog Inc. (MOG.A/MOG.B) announced the Moog 75th Anniversary STEM Scholarship to support education and workforce development. The company will fund 75 scholarships valued at $1,951 each in partnership with four Western New York nonprofit organizations: Buffalo Prep, Dream It Do It Western New York, Northland Workforce Training Center, and Say Yes Buffalo.
The scholarship amount recognizes 1951, the year Bill Moog founded the company in East Aurora, New York.
The scholarships will support students and workforce trainees pursuing post-secondary educational opportunities and career pathways in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Scholarship funding may be used for a variety of pathways beyond high school, including college degree programs, workforce and skilled trades training, apprenticeships, industry-recognized certifications, and other educational opportunities that prepare individuals for STEM careers.
"While our 75th anniversary gives us an opportunity to celebrate our history, it also inspires us to invest in the future," said Moog’s President & CEO Pat Roche. By supporting STEM education and workforce development, we're helping create opportunities for the next generation of innovators, engineers, scientists, machinists, and technicians at Moog."
Founded in 1951, Moog has grown from a small engineering company operating out of an airplane hangar into a global leader in advanced precision motion control technologies serving aerospace, defense, space, industrial automation, medical, and other critical markets around the world.
The scholarships will be administered through four organizations with deep experience supporting student success and workforce development across Western New York:
- Buffalo Prep, a nonprofit educational access organization that provides academic enrichment, mentorship, and long-term support to students from middle school through college and beyond.
- Dream It Do It Western New York, a workforce development initiative connecting students, educators, and manufacturers to career exploration, work-based learning, and advanced manufacturing opportunities.
- Northland Workforce Training Center, an industry-driven training organization that prepares individuals for careers in advanced manufacturing and clean energy through workforce education and employment pathways.
- Say Yes Buffalo, a community partnership that provides cradle-to-career support services and post-secondary tuition opportunities to graduates of Buffalo's public and charter schools.
The initiative was announced during a community leader event commemorating both Moog's 75th anniversary and the opening of its Advanced Integrated Manufacturing facility.
The scholarships will be administered by participating nonprofit organizations, each of which will establish application procedures, eligibility requirements, timelines, and award selection criteria. Students, families, educators, and workforce trainees interested in scholarship opportunities should contact participating organizations directly for application information and deadlines.
