Blacksburg, VA – Moog Inc. (NYSE: MOG.A and MOG.B), a worldwide designer, manufacturer and systems integrator of high-performance precision motion and fluid controls and control systems, has been awarded a $28 million contract by the U.S. Navy for the repair of the slip ring assembly in support of the V-22 Osprey. This versatile military transport aircraft combines tiltrotor and fixed-wing technology, offering the performance of a helicopter with the speed of a fixed-wing aircraft. The slip ring assembly is a key subcomponent providing power and data for the rotor de-ice, flight controls, blade positioning, and sensor feedback.
Moog’s high-performance slip rings provide innovative and reliable transmission of high-speed data and power between the stationary and rotating parts of aircraft and military vehicles. Designed to meet rugged and demanding requirements, these products address the complex challenges faced by our customers. In addition to slip rings, Moog provides robust, custom gimbal assemblies that allow a single-source supplier for battlefield-ready rotating systems.

“We are pleased to support the sustainment of the V-22 Osprey,” said Joe Dascano, Moog Director, Slip Ring Business Unit, Power & Data Division. “Our team is dedicated to designing and manufacturing highly reliable slip ring and rotary solutions with a commitment to the safety of the warfighters. This contract reinforces Moog’s ongoing support of the V-22 program and our nation’s overall readiness.”
Moog is an OEM supplier providing five primary flight control assemblies for the V-22: swashplate, flaperon, elevator, rudder, and fluid compensation module. By supporting the V-22 Osprey with high-performance slip rings and other critical components, Moog ensures the safety and effectiveness of this versatile aircraft, reinforcing its position as a trusted supplier in defense technology.
