Moog and Near Earth Autonomy Forge Strategic Collaboration on Cockpit Autonomy

Cooperation unlocks new mission capabilities across crewed and uncrewed platforms.

August 12, 2026 – Mineral Wells, TX – Moog Inc. (NYSE: MOG.A and MOG.B), a worldwide designer, manufacturer and systems integrator of high-performance precision motion and fluid controls and control systems today announced a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Near Earth Autonomy (Near Earth) to integrate autonomous flight capabilities into Moog’s Genesys Avionics Suite™. By combining CAPTAIN, Near Earth’s industry-leading autonomous pilot system and Responsive Uncrewed Capability (RUC) UAS, with Moog’s proven cockpit displays, communications, and control systems, this collaboration will:

  • Expand mission capabilities on fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft
  • Reduce pilot cognitive load for safer, more reliable operations
  • Enable seamless transitions between manual and autonomous flight modes
  • Support both crewed and uncrewed missions, from search and rescue to cargo resupply and beyond

Building on successful demonstrations with the U.S. Army’s UH-60L Black Hawk uncrewed logistics program, the MOU extends integrated autonomy capabilities to other platforms equipped with the Genesys Avionics Suite™. Together, Moog and Near Earth will pursue domestic and international opportunities, delivering turnkey solutions that empower operators with intuitive, autonomous, mission-ready cockpits.

Sharmila Durairaj, General Manager of Moog Avionics, commented: “By coupling Moog’s mission-proven cockpit systems with Near Earth’s autonomy solutions, we are delivering a leap in operational capability. Users will benefit from advanced decision-support and seamless autonomy modes—so they can focus on the mission.”

“Our prior work with Moog on RUC-60 and MARV-EL has proven that we can bring safe, certifiable autonomy to existing, combat-proven airframes, from the uncrewed Black Hawk to the uncrewed Bell 505,” said Dr. Sanjiv Singh, CEO of Near Earth Autonomy. “Building on that foundation, we’re excited to expand our collaboration with Moog. By combining our CAPTAIN architecture and Autonomy Core with their flight decks, avionics, and aircraft systems, we can deliver practical, phased products for crewed and uncrewed teaming, pilot assist, and autonomous logistics. This partnership gives us a clear framework for aligning customer needs, technical interfaces, and regulatory requirements as we pursue new opportunities across defense, government, and commercial aviation.”

Emphasizing Moog’s unwavering commitment to innovation and operational excellence, this collaboration exemplifies Moog's commitment to Shaping the way our world moves™.
