Moog EA Electronics Recycling Drive Collects Over 75,000 lbs. of eWaste
Employees and the wider community were invited to participate in this 2-day event.
Thanks to the organizing efforts of our East Aurora Facilities and Campus EHS Managers, Moog hosted a very successful electronics recycling drive on the East Aurora Campus in May.
Through this event, both Moog employees and the wider community were invited to bring a wide variety of personal electronic devices to be recycled by local partner Sunnking Sustainable Solutions. An easy and efficient drop-off lane was set up in one of the campus parking lots, allowing participants to simply drive up at their pre-registered time and hand over their old electronics to the Sunnking team for sorting and processing.
During the Friday afternoon employee event, over 225 Moog employees stopped by to deliver their electronic waste. And, in spite of rainy weather, the Saturday community-wide event saw over 720 individual cars come through to drop off items.
An astonishing total of 78,927 lbs. of electronic waste was collected across the two days of the event. This e-waste will now be processed by Sunnking and repurposed as raw materials for new goods.
