Bringing Sustainability and Inclusive Procurement to the Forefront
Buffalo Purchasing Initiative event brings together local small businesses with leaders from Buffalo's largest employers.
In May, Moog hosted a collaborative event in support of the Buffalo Purchasing Initiative, welcoming members of the Buffalo Business Leaders Task Force and the broader Western New York community to our Global Headquarters. With a focus on advancing sustainability and inclusive procurement across Western New York’s business landscape, the event was a strong example of how purposeful collaboration can support both economic opportunity and environmental stewardship across the region.
The day began with a warm and thoughtful welcome from Military Aircraft Group President Mark Graczyk, who represents Moog on the Buffalo Business Leaders Task Force. Then, a panel of regional experts, including Moog's Ryan Besecker, explored the evolving relationship between sustainable sourcing and equitable business growth. From academic insight to industry application, the conversation emphasized the value of environmentally responsible practices and meaningful partnerships with local, diverse suppliers.
Attendees also connected directly with several small businesses offering sustainable products and services. Participating vendors included 1 Accord Services, Bflo Worm Works, Golden Cup Coffee, Junk Free Skin, Little Salmon, Meraki Collective, Monarch of Infinite Possibilities, Papercraft Miracles, and Radah Baked Goods LLC.
