Moog Exhibiting Solutions for Unmanned Systems at AUVSI XPONENTIAL 2021

(Blacksburg, VA, August 11, 2021) Moog Space and Defense Group will showcase its high-performance solutions for unmanned systems at AUVSI XPONENTIAL.  The event will be held August 16 – 19, 2021, in Atlanta, Georgia, and will provide attendees with a full range of autonomous innovations. Come and see Moog at Booth 2842 at the Georgia World Congress Center and learn more about our featured products and solutions.

Power and Data Transfer

Moog’s slip rings provide improved solutions for transferring electrical power, data and media with 360-degrees of continuous rotation. Slip rings on display in the booth will demonstrate various styles and configurations. Applications for slip rings on UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) includes, electro-optical payloads, aerial cameras and counter-UAS sensors.

Motion Control

Actuators and brushless motors will also be on display.  The servo electromechanical actuators have been used on airborne platforms for many years.  These products are used primarily to control flight surfaces on manned and unmanned vehicles.

Moog’s line of frameless brushless DC motors offers a compact design for platforms where performance and value are critical.  These motors are available in standard and custom models.   The new propulsion motor for small aerial platforms will be a featured product.

Data Processing

To support the communication requirements of numerous autonomous systems, Moog specializes in optical transceivers, Ethernet media converters and signal aggregators/encoders that can operate in rugged environments.  These products expand the reach of Moog solutions for aerial and ground unmanned systems.

Surveillance and Tracking

The Taurus-R positioner is a collaborative development between Moog’s teams located in Blacksburg, VA and Northbrook, IL. The advanced Taurus-R supports co-located radars with EO/IR sensors while passing high-definition video signals over two HD-SDI channels. Critical applications require real-time, uncompressed video feeds to assess threats and react accordingly. Taurus-R delivers that capability.

We are pleased to be exhibiting at AUVSI XPONENTIAL 2021 to demonstrate our capabilities that are critical in supporting our customers expanding developments in autonomous platforms,” says Joe Dascano, Director of Business Development, Power & Data Sector. “It will be a great experience to meet face to face again and demonstrate that Moog’s solutions are positioned to respond to the ever-changing advancements of this market.

The event is sponsored by the Association for Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI), the world’s largest non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of unmanned systems and robotics.
