Moog Electrohydrostatic Actuators are a component within a complete Electrohydrostatic Actuation System (EAS). Available as modular, compact, or fully customized systems, machine builders use this technology to generate linear motion with the benefits of the power of electrohydraulic (EH) and the efficiency of electromechanical (EM) actuation.
A complete system is comprised of an electrohydrostatic pump unit, a variable speed servo motor and a fixed or variable displacement pump along with a manifold and cylinder. The energy input into the power train is provided by a servo drive. These building blocks make up Moog‘s Modular EAS, a dynamic and attractive solution for the industrial machine manufacturing market.
The Moog Electrohydrostatic Pump Unit (EPU) is at the heart of electrohydrostatic actuation and helps enable the deployment of a decentralized drive system. This eliminates the need for a hydraulic power unit and complex piping and helps reducing the overall machine footprint.
The Electrohydrostatic Pump System (EPS) consists of an Electrohydrostatic Pump Unit (EPU) and a standardized manifold with hydraulic accumulator. It is offered as a complete system without an actuator and can be easily integrated into machine concepts, whether retrofit or new developments.
The Compact EAS comprises a servo motor, an internal gear pump, a hydraulic manifold, a cylinder and a compensation tank. It is ideal for industrial applications requiring a flexible and compact solution.
The Customized Actuations Systems are composed by a Moog Electrohydrostatic Pump Unit (EPU) and any additional component like customized manifold, servo drive and motion controller, and can be tailored to the specific application and customer requirements.
